This is a very important transit because it ushers in a brand new hero’s journey.
The Sun is our identity and Mars is the way we act. So when the Sun and Mars meet in the sky, we hit Press the reset button.
This is a cosmic call to reevaluate our goals, redefine our desires, and align our actions with our authentic selves.
Mars – The impulse to act
Unlike Mercury and Venus, which never completely orbit the sun as seen from Earth, Mars is the first planet to completely orbit the sun. With Mercury and Venus we cannot have squares, trines or oppositions to the Sun. With Mars we can do that.
Mars is the first planet that challenges the fateful dimension of our personality – the sun – and has a will of its own. Mars is our free will – How can we change our fate and have a say in our evolutionary development?
We made our first return to Mars at age 2. This is the age of endless “no’s.” At the age of 2, the child realizes that he has a will and wants to exercise it.
The “no” phase is very important for our psychological development.
Then we learn that we have limits and that we can change our circumstances.
Without a properly developed Mars, we feel like we have no say in shaping our own lives, trapped in a perpetual child phase and dependent on others for survival.
The archetype associated with the planet Mars is the warrior, and in fact Mars was traditionally the god of war. What is interesting is that Mars was not only the god of war, but also the king of the army. He fights not for the sake of destruction, but to protect the interests of the King (the Sun).
Likewise, the actions we take are in the best interest of our inner sun or our highest self.
When Mars is healthy, our actions simply follow our purpose – and we continue to grow and evolve. When we do not know who we are and what our spiritual purpose is, our actions are incoherent and therefore can become scattered or aggressive.
When we feel stuck, uninspired, or lethargic, this can be attributed to an unhealthy expression of the Mars archetype. Most of the time we associate Mars with anger and aggression, but in many cases depression is caused by Mars’ lack of expression.
When our actions are not aligned with our true purpose (Sun), when our inner fire is not ignited, we find ourselves in a state of stagnation and emotional heaviness.
Mars is the impulse to act and pursue our wishes and desires (Venus). When this natural instinct is inhibited and there is no outlet for the dynamic Mars energy, we distance ourselves from ourselves and forget who we are.
It doesn’t help that in our society the energy of Mars is not always valued. Pursuing our desires is considered selfish. Expressing our point of view in a conversation is considered confrontation. However, selfishness, anger, or aggression are usually symptoms of misaligned Mars energy.
Mars, in its purest form, simply “knows” what to do. It is deeply connected to its intuition and takes actions that serve the best interest of our authentic self.
Do you feel committed and motivated? Are you going for what you want? Are you getting things done?
Or are you lacking energy and motivation, procrastinating and preoccupied with things that are not productive and do not bring you closer to your goals?
Sun Conjunct Mars – A New Mars Cycle
If the latter is the case, there is good news. This pattern may change on November 18th. As we begin a new Mars cycle, we have a unique celestial opportunity to hit the reset button.
The Sun-Mars conjunction is our chance to rewire our Mars impulses, align our actions with our authentic desires, and free ourselves from the shackles of inertia that hold us back.
Many of us believe that change is hard. We have always done things “that way”. Doing things differently feels foreign.
But the truth is that change doesn’t have to be hard. Mars-like change is not difficult because it is rooted in our wishes and desires (Venus). However, it requires one key quality:courage.
With Mars, we don’t actually know what will happen if we do something. We could fail. We could be criticized. But the result is not the point. It is the actual act of owning our truth that will do all the hard work for us.

The sign of the Sun-Mars conjunction gives us clues about how to most effectively express our desires and assert ourselves.
It’s one thing to have the Sun-Mars conjunction in Libra and quite another to have it in Scorpio.
The Sun-Mars conjunction occurs at 25° Scorpio. This is a particularly strong Mars cycle. Why? Because Mars actually rules Scorpio.
In Scorpio, Mars finds it easier to express themselves. Mars in Scorpio is a natural at anything Mars-related.

Since the Agricultural Revolution, couples have had a greater chance of survival than single people. The two parents knew they had to go through thick and thin together and worked hard to keep things together to ensure their survival and that of their children.
These deep Scorpio bonds become the unwritten rules of the relationship. Our parents pass them on to us. We pass them on to our children. But then the point comes when these unwritten rules no longer serve our evolution.

How do we do that?

Dragons represent our subconscious, and facing them is symbolic of integrating hidden aspects of the self.

In Joseph Campbell’s theoriesSlaying the dragon is an important part of the hero’s journey. The hero faces challenges, undergoes a transformation, and returns with newfound wisdom. The dragon is the hero’s ultimate challenge or greatest fear.
The dragon is depicted in the earliest legends and myths, including the tale of St. George, a Christian martyr who killed a dragon that was terrorizing a city.
This age-old tale depicts the courage to do the impossible – the most difficult task, facing the formidable enemy and freeing the community from the grip of fear and oppression.
We find the metaphor “slaying the dragon” in Vedic Rahu/Ketu myth (North Node/South Node). to.
In the myth, Lord Vishnu beheaded the dragon Svarbhānu, who secretly stole the elixir of immortality and thereby threatened the divine order, symbolized by the sun and moon.
A New Mars Cycle – We always have a choice
Killing the dragon is a scorpion metaphor for cutting the umbilical cord – not in the way the ram cuts the fish’s to leave the womb and become a separate individual – but for cutting our umbilical cordkarmic Umbilical cord.
When the dragon – a metaphor for our karmic baggage – is killed, the past (South Node) and future (North Node) are separated.
The newly gained awareness of their separation is the prerequisite for free will.
This understanding helps us to detach ourselves from the threads of our past and enables us to consciously shape our destiny.
When we are no longer aware of how our karmic baggage affects us, we regain the power to make decisions that reflect our true selves.
