Venus in Virgo – From Barbie to Cinderella

On October 9, 2023,Venus enters Virgo. Hallelujah! It’s been a loooong Venus transit in Leo – we’ve had 4 months of Venus in Leo compared to the “normal” month in Leo.

The difference between the showy Venus in Leo and the practical and modest Venus in Virgo is like comparing Barbie to Cinderella.

Unlike Barbie, Cinderella wasn’t born in a shiny outfit; She had to scrub the whole house to go to the ball.

When Venus moves into Virgo, the slogan changes from “Because I’m worth it” to “Because I deserve it.”

Venus in Virgo – From Barbie to Cinderella

Venus in Leo is where we find ourselves uncompromisingly. We effortlessly radiate our light and beauty.

In Virgo we go one step further. Cinderella was as beautiful and worthy as Barbie – but she was not given luxury and invitations to the ball.

In Virgo we must create value and contribute.

Throughout history, Cinderella was often compared to her half-sisters and portrayed as lazy and demanding. This highlights Cinderella’s humility and hard work.

I like the Cinderella metaphor because Venus in Virgo often gets a bad rap. Venus is in Virgo in the fall, where her characteristics are not passed on to her; it must find creative ways to express it.

And while it’s true that Venus in Virgo, just like Cinderella, may have to work a little harder to create “Venus,” that doesn’t mean that Venus in Virgo’s qualities aren’t desirable. There was nothing wrong with Cinderella’s modesty, kindness and hard work.

We know that Cinderella was forced to take on the role of a servant in her own home, doing all the household chores, cleaning, cooking and tending to the fire.

In the story, she is often depicted sitting by the fireplace covered in ashes and ashes, hence the nickname “Cinderella.” Cinderella comes from the French name Cendrillon and means “little ashes”.

The ash metaphor is connected to the Virgin in a fascinating way. The ash remains after the Leo fire burns out and serves as a highly nutrient-rich fertilizer, often used in agriculture (Virgo rules agriculture).

Venus in Virgo and Pisces

Cinderella’s story, like all fairy tales, embodies magic, wonder and timeless wisdom, reminding us of the enduring power of hope and the extraordinary possibilities that arise from ordinary circumstances.

And this reminds us of the opposite sign of Pisces. Virgo and Pisces are two sides of the same coin. They are the final sign that ends a horoscope hemisphere (in the case of Virgo, this is the lower, northern hemisphere of the self; in the case of Pisces, it is the upper, southern hemisphere of the world).

Both Virgo and Pisces are thresholds.

They are the space of maximum variable energy. Here we have to be very flexible and adapt to the circumstances. Both Virgo and Pisces are experts at this.

Virgo is an expert at bringing magic into our everyday lives. Give her the most complex problem and Virgo will unravel it.

In Pisces, magic happens in higher spheres. Pisces don’t look for answers in the everyday world. Pisces lets things go. It turns out. It prays. And when we open ourselves to higher possibilities, magic happens. When we stop resisting, things just fall into place.

Venus in Virgo Transit – October 9th – November 8th, 2023

The initial phase of the Venus in Virgo transit involves “scrubbing the ashes.” Venus opposes Saturn in the constellation Pisces, the exact transit takes place on October 10th.

Later this month, Venus trines Jupiter in Taurus on October 22nd. In the Cinderella story, the fairy godmother helps her go to the ball.

“Shy” towards the end of the month Venus Virgo gets wild when she Trine Uranus in Taurus, on October 31st. This is a real Halloween transit!

In the story, she puts on the nice outfit, goes to the ball and loses her shoe. What a Uranian slip-up as Cinderella experiences a lucky twist of fate.

Venus trine Uranus is quite a transit, as Venus forms a magical aspect pattern called the Kite. Venus is also part of a grand trine with Uranus and Pluto.

This transit is particularly beneficial for practical matters and finances, but also for sensual experiences such as good food or quality time with loved ones.

Venus will have a lot of fun at the end of the month!

And at the beginning of November, about November 4th, towards the end of her stay in Virgo, Venus opposes Neptune in the constellation Pisces.

Is this the happy ending? Fairy tales leave things open-ended. We actually don’t know if Cinderella and the Prince got along and had a happy marriage.

But there is something magical about “not knowing” and leaving things open. It keeps things interesting. It’s up to us what we do. And it’s exactly this kind of magic that Venus in Virgo – trine to Uranus and opposite Neptune – brings into our lives.
